My BF’s and my house is in the middle of the woods. We’re surrounded by trees and wildlife.
It’s beautiful and peaceful… until it’s not 😆
We’ve had some woodland creatures—aka flying squirrels—that have taken up residence in our attic. And after months of trying to find a company that can help us get them out, we finally found one.
Or so we thought.
We contacted the company and they charged us almost $700 for what we were told was a squirrel service.
Well, they took the money, but never completed the squirrel service. (Note: they were not going to kill the squirrels, just remove them)
After almost three weeks of calling the company to complain, trying to get our money refunded, and getting the run-around (I swear this company has a “run-around script” they use with their customer service people), I realized we had been trying to figure out the How of resolving the situation.
And the how is not our job.
I knew what we wanted—to get the service refunded—and I decided to hand it over to the Universe.
A week later, our regular pest company called to say they were coming out for their routine service. They sent Angel, the woman who usually does our pest control.
I was telling her about the frustrating situation with this other company, and she looks at me and says, “I actually know the CEO of that company. I can call him and let him know what’s been going on. I know he won’t be happy to hear it.”
The CEO called me yesterday, and this morning we received another call confirming our refund had been processed.
After weeks of trying to handle it ourselves, the Universe took care of it with total ease once we finally decided to surrender it.
All of this to remind you that the How of getting what you want is never your job.
Yes, do what you know to do, do what you can do. That’s your part.
But then surrender it and trust, so The Universe can do its part.
It will do it easily and quickly when you do. 🔥
P.S. You can learn all about how to master the art of surrender in my bestselling book, F*ck the How. Get it here: www.jenniferblanchard.net/book
