When a story idea comes to me, it pops into my head like a bolt of inspiration, seemingly out of nowhere.
The details then begin unfolding in my mind’s eye, like I’m watching it on a movie screen.
I can feel an energy rising up through my body as if it has awakened something deep inside of me. Like this story has always been a part of me.

I was having a convo with one of my good friends the other day. She was telling me that her family invited her to go on a trip later this year, and she was frustrated about this invite because she had just spent money on a trip and didn’t have the money for this new trip.
She wanted my advice on how to handle it, and whether or not she should tell her family about her current financial situation, and why she can’t go on the trip later this year.
And my advice to her was the exact advice I would want her–or anyone else–to give to me about that same situation. Or, really, any situation regarding money.

Twelve years ago tomorrow is the anniversary of me going all-in on overcoming one of my biggest life-long fears.
But first, a little backstory.
When I was four years old, my then-two-year-old brother got bit by a very large dog. It tore into the side of his face, causing him to need multiple stitches and a whole lot of healing. He still has the scars to this day.
I watched this entire event happen right in front of my eyes from the safety of a hill across the way from where the dog was. The hill I attempted to get my brother to come hide with me behind, but he refused to listen.
He insisted on going over to pet the dog.

For the past eleven months, I’ve been hardcore working on my money mindset and expanding my wealth consciousness. I’ve been doing this because I finally got to a point in my life where I was done struggling. Done with “feast or famine.”
Done with “not enough”–in ALL areas.
A point where I realized, I’ve always known I’m meant to be rich, but I also known those riches aren’t just going to plop down on my doorstep. Especially not when I had a lack mentality and an “I’m broke” consciousness.

A confession (that is really hard for me to confess): I’ve been in business for almost 10 years, and so far this year, I’ve made about $5k.
I’ve made a full-time income (anywhere from $33k-$82k per year) from my biz for most of those 10 years, but in January, I had a “fuck this shit” moment and decided to shut down all of the things I was doing in my business just to make money/pay the bills, and most of my income went with it.
I trust and know the money I’m used to making will return and even more of it than ever before because I’m now in alignment and doing what I know I’m meant to be doing, even if I’m not making a full-time income from it yet. (I no longer chase money, which is what I used to do.)
But to get to this place, this level of faith, this contentment within myself, it took making peace with where I’m at in this moment.
